WAYNE – One man is arrested after a police chase through Wayne Wednesday afternoon.
The Wayne Police Department attempted to pull over a speeding and reckless vehicle on Highway 35 outside city limits around 3:10 p.m.
Due to the location of the schools, police notified school officials requesting a lock-out.
Within a few minutes, officers found the suspect home near the 400 block of West 10th Street, where he had stopped and was taken into custody. The school lockout was lifted around 20 minutes later.
26-year-old Juan Pena Tamayo of Wakefield was arrested on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence, Willful Reckless Driving, Flight to Avoid Arrest.
