Omaha’s last roller-skating rink will close in March

Omaha, Neb. (Omaha World-Herald) Omaha’s last roller-skating rink, SkateDaze, is planning to close.

According to a statement made by owners Scott and Pam Cernik they are quote “ready to hang up their skates and pursue other passions.”

The family says it will close its final roller-skating rink after operating for the past 51 years.

The family owned as many as five Omaha roller rinks during the 70s and 80s.

Scott Cernik’s father, began the business when he purchased a portable roller rink in 1946.

The business will have its final day March 31st.
