Two Area Schools Set for Rematch for the Right to Play in State Title

After an epic week one matchup that went down to the final minute, it seems appropriate that East Butler and Howells-Dodge meet in the playoffs.

#2 Howells-Dodge (11-0) is set to travel to #4 East Butler (9-2) next Monday in the Class D1 state semifinals.

The two schools battled in the first week of the season, with the Jaguars coming back to win 26-20 over the Tigers in Howells.

The semifinal is set for 7 p.m. at East Butler’s home field in Dwight.

East Butler advanced to the game after upsetting #1 Creighton 40-28 on Tuesday. Howells-Dodge defeated Johnson-Brock 56-42 at home.
