2018 Red Ribbon Run

NORFOLK- Hundreds of kids gathered at Sunset Plaza mall for the annual 1 mile Red Ribbon Run Saturday morning.

More than 200 elementary school students from Norfolk and other Northeast Nebraska communities participated.

Co-Coordinator of the event, Josh long says, the run is designed to provide boys and girls an opportunity to come together and show unity in the fight against drug and alcohol abuse.

Before taking off on the one-mile run the kids took a pledge to remain drug-free.

The schools will celebrate the theme, “Respect Yourself – Be Drug-Free!” for a week.

The run was free and after the race participants received refreshments and a Red Ribbon t-shirt.
