Accident Involving Pregnant Woman Causes $9000 In Damage

COLUMBUS – A two-vehicle accident in Columbus on Tuesday afternoon which involved a pregnant woman caused an estimated $9000 in damages.

The accident occurred at the intersection of 41st Avenue and 15th Street at 3:28 p.m. The drivers involved were identified as 18-year-old Columbus resident Abbie Robinson, and 32-year-old Columbus resident Yeney Gonzalez Solis.

According to the accident report, Solis was going to her private doctor to check on her pregnancy. No injuries were determined at the scene following the accident, and Solis was transported to her doctor by a family member.

The report says that Solis was driving east on 15th Street, while Robinson was at a stop sign, heading north on 41st Avenue. According to Robinson, she stopped and looked both ways, but said that Solis must have been in her blind spot, and she pulled out and struck Solis’ vehicle. Solis says that she didn’t see Robinson stop for the stop sign before she collided with her vehicle.

Robinson was issued a citation for failure to yield right-of-way. Damage to Robinson’s vehicle was estimated at $3000, and Solis’ vehicle totaled an estimated $6000 in damage.
