SOUTH SIOUX CITY – The department of Adult Education of Northeast Community College in South Sioux City will highlight its new location and the various services it offers.
The October open house will take place on Thursday from 10 a.m. until Noon at Northeast’s South Sioux City extended campus, located at 1001 College Way.
Participants will learn about the various services offered by Adult Education, which include Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes, preparation for the General Educational Development (GED®) test and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes.
The Adult Education department has recently moved to the South Sioux City extended campus from its prior location at the South Sioux City Public Library.
Nancy Schultz, director of adult education, said the move offers many benefits for students in the program.
“Our recent move to the South Sioux City extended campus has provided an enhanced learning environment and proximity to opportunities beyond the services offered through Adult Education. The academic atmosphere gives our students confidence that they are receiving quality services and that many post-secondary opportunities exist as students pursue their careers.”
Anyone interested in enrolling in classes or serving as a volunteer tutor is invited to attend the open house.
In addition to South Sioux City, Northeast’s Adult Education department offers courses in Norfolk, O’Neill, Wakefield and West Point.
