STANTON, NE — An Allen man is facing sentencing after he entered a no-contest plea to multiple felony charges on Monday.

Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger says 31-year-old Keith Newman entered a no-contest plea to felony charges of possession of a firearm and felony theft in Stanton County Court.  He was arrested back in March by the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office when they responded to a break-in at a rural Pilger residence.

Sheriff Unger says Newman and his accomplice,  19-year-old Lakyne Faimon of Allen, were located on a county road near Pilger with several loaded firearms, a pickup truck and other items that were taken in the burglary. The suspects were also in possession of a 2016 Volkswagen Passat that was stolen from a Norfolk car dealership earlier in the week.  Faimon already pled guilty and will be sentenced next month.

Newman will be sentenced early next year and faces a mandatory minimum sentence of three years in prison.
