Antelope Memorial Hospital Celebrates 65 Years

The hospital is a cornerstone of our county

- Joe Hartz

NELIGH – At a time when rural health care providers seem to be disappearing, one small northeast Nebraska hospital continues to thrive.

Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh celebrated it’s 65th anniversary with a ceremony featuring community members and staff past and present.

City leaders say they’re thankful the hospital has found a way to continue to serve the needs of Antelope County.

“The hospital is a cornerstone of our county,” said Neligh Mayor Joe Hartz. “It’s a large employer for our city. So we want to say thanks to you folks for being here.”

Among those on-hand was the first baby born at AMH…who grew up to become one of it’s doctors…Dr. Roger Rudloff, who said AMH continues to grow in the face of long odds.

“Over the past 65 years, this hospital has been blessed with numerous dedicated physicians, nurses and ancillary staff members that have met these challenges,” Dr. Rudloff said. “It is our pledge and intention to continue this tradition that has been established by our predecessors for future generations.”

The hospital is not only still thriving…but expanding, with construction of their new family practice clinic ongoing. The facility will add ten new patient rooms and a new procedure room to AMH when finished.
