BEATRICE – Beatrice Police investigated two weekend incidents allegedly involving drug deals….one where police were tipped off by a Snapchat message.
On Saturday, Sergeant Jay Murphy says one of the department’s officers had observed a Snapchat by someone who had posted pictures of drugs, saying, “hit me up…I’m willing to sell”.
Murphy says police went to a location in the city and found several people occupying two vehicles, at the rear of a residence.
Police cited a 15-year-old male juvenile for possession of marijuana, while a 17-year-old female juvenile was arrested for alleged distribution of an illegal drug to a juvenile, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug money, marijuana possession and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Murphy says the female was on probation.
Police also arrested an adult who allegedly sent the Snapchat. 19-year-old Madison Carlson, of Beatrice was arrested for distribution of an illegal drug to a juvenile, use of a juvenile to distribute drugs, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug money, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and marijuana possession.
In a separate incident Sunday night at around 8:37, police officers were sent to investigate a terroristic threat in the 1700 block of North 9th Street.

Police arriving on the scene found a male and female inside a car, but there was no weapon found during a search of the vehicle. Murphy says police suspect a drug deal was supposed to take place.

Police arrested 18-year-old Emmanuel Beach. The female occupant of the vehicle, was not arrested.
