Belitz Stepping Down As Chamber President

COLUMBUS – The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce announced Monday that President K.C. Belitz will be stepping down in early 2019.

Belitz announced his resignation to the Chamber board and staff. Belitz will become Chief Operating Officer of the Nebraska Community Foundation, a new position focused on community impact among NCF’s network of 220 affiliated funds, which serve 257 Nebraska towns.

Belitz said in a statement:

“I am really excited about the opportunity to take on statewide opportunities in areas that I’m passionate about,” Belitz said.  “It’s an extraordinary opportunity to become part of an organization that is growing as rapidly in assets and influence as is NCF.  At the same time, I recognize I wouldn’t have this chance without the experiences I’ve been given in Columbus.  I’m extremely grateful for the professionals I’ve worked with at the Chamber and the amazing volunteer leaders who’ve led our organization during my time in this seat.”

Belitz has served as the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce President since November 2000, and Chairman of the Chamber Board of Directors Dennis Grennan will lead a selection committee to begin an immediate search to fill the President’s position.

“The Chamber is grateful to K.C. for his service for almost two decades as staff and 10 years before that as a volunteer,” said Grennan.  “During his time as President, he has maintained the culture of collaboration and vision that has been the hallmark of our Chamber of Commerce for many years.  He will be missed here but we know he’ll continue to do work that will benefit Columbus and greater Nebraska.”
