Blue Springs Cleans Up Significant Damage to Properties and Homes

BLUE SPRINGS – Trees and power lines down, properties damaged and residents were out in the heat on Saturday trying to cleaning up the mess.

Blue Springs is one of the areas that got hit the hardest from Friday night’s storm.

Homeowners Sharon Surratt and Zach Bohlmeyer spoke to News Channel Nebraska about the damage their residence now has after the strong winds.

“We have a lot of tree damage. All the trees on the property are damaged. The shed north of our house – the roof was taken off laying on the fence line west of the house. Everything in it was thrown – our four wheeler, everything. Our pole shed back there was damaged.”

“Our trampoline was a good four blocks down – out by the field.”

This residence was damaged with heavy tree debris. An uprooted tree now lays closely to the front of the home. The property owners tell News Channel Nebraska luckily no one was in the house at the time of the storm.

These homeowners were also trying to carefully cut on the tree that landed on top of their roof.

Surratt says, “We have no power. They told us it could be two days before we get power back. We have no water here.”
