NORFOLK- The public was invited to an open house Wednesday on a street improvement project for Braasch Avenue, from 1st to 5th street. The open house is an opportunity for the public to provide input at a key stage in the design process.
Planned improvements include reconstruction of the street and sidewalks, replacement of the curbs and gutters, and new sanitary sewer and storm sewer infrastructure. City goals are to create a welcoming environment and enhance safety.
The project also seeks to extend the downtown character to BraaschAvenue to build off the successes of Norfolk Avenue.
This design of the improvements is partially funded through two $350,000 grants.
The project is planning to be bid this winter. The construction will take place over the next two to three years.
