COLUMBUS – The Nebraska High School Bowling Federation’s State Tournament is this weekend, and a pair of young Columbus teams are ready to show what they’re made of.
The Columbus varsity girls and boys federation bowling teams qualified for state by finishing in the top four of their District Tournaments, with both teams finishing in third. While there are only two upperclassmen combined between the two squads, both teams are excited and confident about their chances this weekend.
The qualifying round will take place on Saturday at the Hollywood Bowl in Lincoln, with the top two teams advancing to the finals on Sunday at Sun Valley Lanes. The boys will be looking for their fourth state title, and first since 2011, while the girls will be trying to win their first-ever championship.
