Columbus Man Flees Scene Of Accident; Combined $6000 In Damages Caused

COLUMBUS – A two-vehicle accident in Columbus on Tuesday evening lead one driver to leave the scene of the accident, and flee on foot.

The Columbus Police Department reports that the accident occurred on 23rd Street, near 36th Avenue around 8:43 p.m. The drivers of the two vehicles involved were identified as 21-year-old Columbus resident Jeramiah Miller, and 35-year-old Columbus resident Adam Divo.

According to the accident report, Divo was westbound on 23rd Street behind Miller, when he passed and moved in front of Miller’s vehicle. Divo then suddenly braked, causing Miller to strike the rear of Divo’s vehicle.

Miller then proceeded to leave the scene of the accident. Officers say that Miller parked his vehicle in another location, and fled on foot.

Miller was eventually found by police, and a citation is pending for the accident. Both vehicles sustained $3000 in damage, and Miller’s vehicle was towed to the CPD Impound Lot by Behlen Towing.
