Columbus Man Jailed For Third DUI In Three Years

COLUMBUS – A Columbus man was jailed on his third DUI offense after a vehicle stop early Tuesday morning.

25-year-old David Donoghue was stopped by Platte County Sheriff’s deputies around 1:45 AM Tuesday morning just north of the Highway 81 and Highway 22 intersection. Deputies jailed Donoghue for DUI 3rd offense – aggravated, ignition interlock violation, possession of an open container, and driving on the shoulder.

Donoghue was was found guilty on July 26, 2018 of his 2nd DUI offense, which took place on December 7, 2017. Donoghue was sentenced in July to 12 months of probation, 240 hours of community service, and had his license revoked for a term of 18 months.

Donoghue was convicted of his first DUI offense on August 27, 2015.
