Deputy Says Suspect Drove Through Salem Cemetery Fence

FALLS CITY – Richardson County Public Defender has been appointed to defend Braiden Guido on charges including driving through the Salem Cemetery to avoid arrest.

An arrest warrant affidavit says witnesses told deputies that 21-year-old Braiden Guido was the driver of a Hyundai Sonata that fled a Salem residence and went through the cemetery to elude a police pursuit. The driver of a second car lost control while coming onto the scene and came to stop on top of a cemetery tree.

The affidavit says the Sonata had been reported stolen out of Kansas and Guido has an active arrest warrant out of Kansas.

Court records say Guido wrote a letter to Richardson County authorities saying he is incarcerated and asking for information to support the arrest warrant.

Damage to the cemetery is valued at $500.
