FREMONT – Charlie Diers Ford and Archbishop Bergan Catholic School are once again teaming up for a Drive 4 UR School fundraising event.
On Saturday, October 21st, members of the community can visit Charlie Diers Ford in Fremont to take a test drive. For every test drive, Ford Motor Company will donate money to the school. There is no cost, and according to Assistant Principal and Activities Director at Bergan, Chris Rainforth, the entire process takes less than thirty minutes. He adds their goal is to get 300 people to come out for a test drive.
“If we are able to get 300 people to come out and take test drives, Diers Ford will pay us $20 per test drive. So up to a total of $6,000 that we could raise to go toward our extracurricular activities and transportation programs,” said Rainforth. “And those programs basically benefit every single student in our system.”
Rainforth estimates this will be the sixth time Bergan has partnered with the company for this event. Maggie Diers with Charlie Diers Ford says they have been holding this event for area schools and charities for years.
“Diers Ford has been doing test drive events since Ford Motor Company started the program. So this will be our 18th test drive,” said Diers. “We’ve done several with Archbishop Bergan, as well as many other schools and charities in the area. The exciting thing is that at some point we will hit the five thousand mark in terms of five thousand test drives for charity.”
Charlie Diers Ford is located at 2445 N. Broad Street in Fremont. The Drive 4 UR School event will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those taking the test drive must be at least 18-years-old.
