NORFOLK — Northeast Nebraskans experiencing neck, headache or lower back pain could find some relief soon.
According to a news release, Faith Regional Health Services is offering two free seminars for those experiencing headaches and migraines, neck pain and low back pain to learn more about effective treatment using the McKenzie method in physical therapy. The seminars, presented by Lin Pu, Dip. MDT, MS, PT, a physical therapist specially trained in the McKenzie method, will cover how the method works, who may benefit from therapy, and answer any questions from attendees. Pu is the only McKenzie Diplomate in Nebraska, which is an internationally recognized achievement of expertise in the profession of physical therapy.
“This type of therapy is very focused on assessing the problem to determine if they are mechanical in nature,” said Pu. “The method emphasizes self-management and promotes active patient involvement. Most people who respond to the method can successfully treat themselves and minimize the number of visits to therapy, or eliminate them all together.”
The seminar addressing low back pain will be held on Wednesday, October 17 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. and the seminar addressing neck and headache pain will be on Wednesday, October 24 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Both seminars are free and will be held in the Nebraska Room North at Faith Regional Health Services’ West Campus, 2700 W. Norfolk Ave. in Norfolk. No registration is required.
