Felony Charges For Fremont Man After Monday Assault

FREMONT – A Fremont man faces two assault charges stemming from a physical altercation on Monday evening.

Fremont Police were called to the 1100 block of N. Platte Avenue at approximately 9:30 p.m. Monday on reports of a physical disturbance in progress. Officers arrived to find a victim with injuries from an alleged assault that had taken place prior to their arrival. As a result, 55-year old Karl A. Brown was arrested and charged with strangulation and third-degree domestic assault, both felonies.

A Fremont man was cited after a vehicle he was driving crashed into three separate vehicles on Monday afternoon.

Fremont Police responded to the 1600 block of N. Bell Street at approximately 3:13 p.m. Monday when one vehicle backed into another while it was refueling at a local business. Investigation determined that the vehicle had also been involved in two prior accidents, which were due to alleged mechanical reasons. 59-year old Phillip B. Klevermann was cited for willful reckless driving and the vehicle was impounded.

Meanwhile, Fremont Police are investigating a criminal mischief incident after a vehicle had its back window broken out.

Fremont Police took the complaint in the 1700 block of N. Irving Street at approximately 5:47 a.m. Monday. Investigation determined that sometime between 9:30 p.m. Sunday and 5:40 a.m. Monday, someone had thrown a beer bottle through the back window of the victim’s 2010 Nissan Maxima, causing the window to shatter. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $300.
