Free Breast Prosthesis Fitting Day for Breast Cancer Survivors

NORFOLK – Faith Regional Health Services will be hosting a Breast Prosthesis Fitting Day on May 9, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Faith Regional University, 110 N. 29th St. No appointment is needed.

At the event, breast cancer survivors can ask questions and receive assistance with breast prosthesis fitting from Faith Regional volunteer and cancer survivor, Nita Totten. In addition, thanks to the generosity of the Hope Fund and its donors, a bra and breast prosthesis are available at no cost.

“This event is for all women who’ve had breast surgery due to cancer regardless if their surgery occurred recently or years ago,” said Melissa Hahn, nurse navigator for breast cancer patients at Faith Regional Health Services. “Women can be fitted with a full breast prosthesis if they had a mastectomy or equalizers to help with asymmetry due to a lumpectomy with assistance of a trained and supportive volunteer.”
