Fremont Business and Resident Reports Burglaries

FREMONT – A Fremont residence and business reported burglaries on Tuesday.

According to Lt. Ed Watts with the Fremont Police Department, at approximately 9:15 a.m. a burglary to a residence in the 400 block of S. Birchwood Drive was reported. The victim stated someone had entered the residence and stole a PlayStation 4 game console and nine games for the console. There are no suspects at this time and the dollar amount of the stolen items is approximately $700.

And at noon a burglary to a business in the 2500 block of N. Somers Avenue was reported. It was reported someone had forcibly entered the business by kicking out a door panel. Once inside, the perpetrator took four sets of keys belonging to vehicles parked in the business lot. There are no known suspects and the dollar amount of the damaged door and the stolen keys was estimated at $70.

Also at approximately 2:30 p.m. 28-year-old Izill Sims of Fremont and 21-year-old Carter J. Mitchell of Scribner were cited for shoplifting. Sims and Mitchell were observed stealing bottles of various alcoholic beverages from a retail business in the 800 block of E. 23rd Street. The estimated value of the stolen merchandise was approximately $120.
