FREMONT – A resource fair will be held at the Fremont Mall on Wednesday.
The FREEmont Community Resource Fair will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fremont Mall. The event is free and open to the public, and is being hosted by the Dodge County Collaborative Team.
President of Dodge County Collaborative Team and Executive Director of Three Rivers Health Department, Terra Uhing says the event will showcase the resources in the community.
“The purpose of this is to basically educate and empower the individuals that live within our community,” said Uhing. “It’s so that they can learn more about some of the terrific services that are available here locally.”
Uhing adds there are three components to the event.
“The first part is the actual resource fair. So we have about between 25 and 30 non-profit organizations that are signed up that will have tables there, giving out information,” said Uhing. “Then we also have what we call operation backpack, where we have an allotted number of backpacks that will be available for kids K-12.”
With Operation Backpack, they ask for kids who have not received another free backpack in the community within the last two months, but their goal is to not turn anyone away. Also, adults can pick up bags with personal care products. No questions will be asked, and it is first come first serve.
Finally, Pinnacle Bank is sponsoring a free showing of the Emoji Movie at 4 p.m. for those who complete the Resource Passport at the event. Space for the movie showing is limited.
