Fremont Man Sentenced for Meth Charges in District Court
Scott D. Blanchard

FREMONT – A Fremont man was sentenced in Dodge County District Court for charges involving methamphetamine.

Scott D. Blanchard was charged after being arrested for possessing and also delivering methamphetamine. Blanchard has been charged and convicted of the crimes of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine and Possession of Methamphetamine before, along with First Degree False Imprisonment. Dodge County Attorney Oliver Glass says Blanchard originally had habitual criminal status due to his history, but they agreed to drop the status if he accepted the plea agreement.

“In my opinion he’s one of the bigger methamphetamine dealers in Fremont,” said Glass. “He had a habitual criminal status and we had made the plea offer that we would dismiss that if he would agree to 10-20 years on his meth delivery case and his other case which was meth possession.”

The judge sentenced Blanchard to 10-20 years in prison for the charge involving meth delivery and 15 months concurrent with the case involving meth possession.
