WAYNE – Two public hearings are scheduled to be held at the regularly scheduled City of Wayne Council meeting Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m.
From the City Hall, the first public hearing will talk about the intent to release funds for the Villa Wayne Capital Improvement project through the Wayne Housing Authority after they have been awarded capital funds. In the past, the City has hosted a public hearing to obtain Council’s approval to determine compliance with the environmental review process for the Authority’s five-year capital improvement plan. This place was completed by the Northeast Nebraska Economic Development District in 2014.
Also, due to a drainage ditch running along the back of three lots in the area of the Southview II Addition, the area needs to be re-platted to accommodate the same change which in turn shifts two other lots. The Planning Commission met on Monday and will bring their recommendation to the council Tuesday night.
Kelby Herman and Brent Pick will then be requesting to waive the open burning ban. They would like to burn the old elevator in the Southview II Addition (South Sherman Street) as Fire Chief Phil Monahan will be in attendance to explain the process.
The reappointment of Randy Larson to the Wayne Community Redevelopment Authority will also take place during City Council.
