PIERCE – The holiday season is approaching faster than some would like to think, and the Pierce County Fair Board is giving shoppers an opportunity to get a jump start on shopping with a vendor and craft fair Saturday, October 14th from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
The fair will be held in the pavilion on the fairgrounds. Organizer Kathy Lauer said currently, the pavilion is full, with some over-flow vendors and she may have to open up a second building to accommodate all the sellers on Saturday. There should be something for everyone at the show.
“From your crafters-knitting, fabric stuff-to wooden signs and re-purposed stuff, up to furniture and then have all your jewelry and vendor-type stuff as well,” Lauer said.
As cooler weather moves in, the holiday season is getting closer and closer and Lauer hopes those who come to the craft and vendor show can take some inspiration.
“If you don’t decorate for any other season, you decorate for fall and Christmas, so it’s a nice time just to start looking at that,” Lauer said.
Many of the vendors and crafters are local, so shoppers will get a chance to buy from plenty of local sources at one time and perhaps take care of some of their holiday shopping lists as well.
“The gift-giving season I’d just as soon people support your local vendors, the people that they know, that are trying to do in-home businesses for the Christmas season and the shopping season,” Lauer said.
