Iowa Man Doesn’t Show For Nebraska Trial

BEATRICE – A district judge has issued a warrant for the arrest of an Iowa man who failed to show, for his Gage County, Nebraska District Court jury trial, last week.

Potential jurors came to the courthouse for the trial involving Robert Waite, but the defendant failed to appear.  Judge Julie Smith issued the bench warrant and set an appearance bond of $250,000, in the case.

Waite was to go on trial last Wednesday, on charges of strangulation, 1st-degree false imprisonment and 3rd-degree domestic assault.   The charges stemmed from an incident, March 10th, of 2016.  At the time of the incident, Waite was residing at a home in the 700 block of West Mary, in Beatrice.
