Jimmy John’s CEO gets to Columbus…”Freaky Fast”

COLUMBUS- Jimmy John’s is known for its “freaky fast” delivery, but one branch showed it can deliver a lot more.. and because of it Jimmy John himself arrived just as fast to Northeast Nebraska Saturday morning.

Jimmy John’s founder and CEO Jimmy John Liautaud came to Columbus to personally thank the store’s employees for assisting Columbus resident Greg Holeman to the hospital on October 20th.

The manager of a Jimmy John’s sandwich franchise in Columbus, Nebraska listened as a woman called and explained she had just returned to Tampa from visiting her brother in Columbus who just had surgery. He was having complications and needed to get to the hospital.

Rather than say she had the wrong number and hang up Jimmy John’s Manager Jason Voss knew he needed to figure out a way to help so he sent one of their drivers,
who turned out to be Zach Hillmer. Hillmer hopped into his car picked up her brother and took the ill veteran nine miles to the hospital.

Liautaud showed his appreciation to Hillmer with the gift of a new Ford Escape delivery vehicle. Liautaud said it wasn’t hard to do, “that’s the human side of the business. This was humanity, it was beautiful. People help me and I help people, and that’s what it’s all about.”
