Judge Tacks On Additional Probation Sentence, For Liberty Woman

BEATRICE – A judge has admonished a Liberty woman who is on probation in a forgery case, and tacked on an additional probation term, in a separate matter.

32-year-old Kristi Forke, of Liberty will remain on probation until May 30th, 2020, and Gage County District Judge Rick Schreiner added a three-year probation sentence which will begin following completion of the first probation term.

Forke was convicted in a more recent case of drug possession and negligent child abuse.

Judge Schreiner said his initial thought was to impose a prison sentence.

Forke has been in custody, serving a jail term that could have been waived through compliance with probation.

Both the state and defense recommended Forke continue on probation, but with the consecutive term on the drug case.

Forke was found to have violated terms of her earlier probation by being arrested last September, in a drug case…..for associating with another person who has a criminal record….and failing to report for group meetings with state probation, last July and August.
