Laugh and a Half Helps Fund Infant Incubator

NORFOLK — A family fun event is helping future families in northeast Nebraska.

Officials with the Laugh and a Half Marathon donated over $7,000 to the Faith Regional Foundation on Friday morning in Norfolk. The race organizers always donate to pediatric needs because of the event’s mission to promote wellness and family fun.

“You just get to see the enjoyment and just the great aspects of family that are brought together through such a health and wellness event,” Laugh and a Half Co-Director Jodi Richey said. “Then we’re able to tie that into community projects that really make a big difference in the community.”

This year’s proceeds go towards the purchase of an incubator for newborns. The device allows medical staff to better manage a baby’s temperature. Director of Women and Children’s Services at Faith Regional Barb Petersen says the community is fortunate to have a group of that is passionate about pediatric care.

“I think children are our future and I think it is excellent management of dollars in the community to be using them to help us provide better care and safety for infants,” Petersen said.

The Laugh and a Half Marathon is organized by radio station 94 Rock and is held every June in Norfolk. More information about the event can be found at laughandahalfmarathon.com.
