Lightning Strikes House in Columbus
Columbus fire crews responded to a fire call during a storm last Tuesday

COLUMBUS – A house in northern Columbus was reportedly struck by a lightning bolt, during Tuesday night’s storm.

Just after 8 p.m. extra fire and rescue crews made their way to 31st Street, where the house was struck. The owner reported to local officials that a lightning bolt struck the roof on the back of his house, said responders on scene.

Crews were working on the back portion of the roof, where a small portion of the roof appeared to have suffered burns.

Several trees, electrical poles, and stop lights have been damage or knocked down around Columbus, during the lightning heavy storm.
