Local Dog Rescue Shelter Hosts Paw-Liday Craft Fair on Saturday

FREMONT – The local dog rescue shelter in Fremont, Furever Home Inc. is hosting a fundraising event this weekend.

The Paw-liday Vendor Craft Fair will take place in the main building at Christensen Field on Saturday. Those who attend will be able to enjoy a day of shopping for crafts and fun Christmas gifts from local artists, crafters, and direct sale vendors. The founder of Furever Home Inc., Deb Steenblock, says they hold a number of fundraisers throughout the year.

“We host fundraisers and events all throughout the year. The craft fair is one of those events. We have several different vendors that will be there,” said Steenblock. “We will have a booth there. Our local cat rescue program will be there to provide information on adoptable cats, and cat care. And we will be providing information on dogs available for adoption, and dog care.”

Lunch will also be served during the event. Raffle tickets will be for sale to win prizes that are donated by the vendors and volunteers. Steenblock says the proceeds from these events help them to pay their biggest expense, which is vetting.

“Events like this help us raise funds, because the vetting is our largest bill. And then we have dog food, dog toys, and supplies like that behind it,” said Steenblock. “So all of these fundraisers help us pay for the vet bills.”

The Paw-liday Vendor Craft Fair will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the main building at Christensen Field. You can find more information on Furever Home Inc.’s website, fetchingfureverhomes.org.
