Man Who Assaulted and Held Woman Against her Will Sentenced

MADISON, NE — A man with charges in Stanton County was sentenced for his crimes in Madison on Friday morning.

30-year old Arturo Aceves was sentenced in Madison County District Court after pleading guilty to a litany of charges including terroristic threats, assault and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.

Last November police made contact with Aceves during a traffic stop. A woman passenger stated to police that Aceves had physically assaulted her the night before.

The victim told police Aceves had slashed her face with a knife from her nose across the right side of her face. The victim told police he also punched and kicked her and shot her with a BB gun. According to the victim, Aceves had also kept her against her will at house overnight and refused to allow her to call anyone.

Aceves will serve at least seven years in jail before becoming eligible for mandatory release in eight years, according to Nebraska’s good time law.
