WAYNE – Wayne City Council will hold their regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m.
From the City Hall, Mayor Ken Chamberlain will appoint Wes Blecke as the Assistant City Administrator from July 1 – July 31 and then the Wayne City Administrator as of August 1, 2017. Lowell Johnson is the current City Administrator and Blecke is the current Executive Director for Wayne Area Economic Development.
Councilmembers will hear a recommendation from Bryce Meyer, Recreation Director and Cassie Gubbels, Pool Manager pertaining to a policy/rules at the Community Activity Center. The proposed policy/rule would be children that are seven years old and younger must be accompanied by a family member/babysitter at all times (in the water and out of the water). The babysitter must be at least 16 years old.
Both Meyer and Gubbels are saying the lifeguards are concerned about the safety of the kids in the 5-7 age range being dropped off by themselves or coming with an older sibling in the 10-12 age range. The recommendation would also state kids have to be eight years and older to be at the Activity Center by themselves.
There will be several public hearings pertaining to the “Crown II Housing Project”, Beaumont First Addition, Wayne Comprehensive Plan and a Wayne Municipal Code regarding parking.
Councilmembers will also look to approve the agreement with Providence Medical Center for Ambulance Services.
