Norfolk Man Arrested for Assault After Weekend Fight
Timothy Payne

NORFOLK – A Norfolk man is in custody after police say a verbal altercation turned physical.

Norfolk Police say they were called to a nearby home this weekend for an altercation between 55-year-old Timothy Payne and an adult male resident.

Officials say an argument escalated and Payne placed the male victim in a headlock, struck him in the face several times and pushed him into a storm door, breaking some glass. They say Payne then slammed the victim’s head into the ice-covered concrete several times.

The victim sustained a significant cut just below his left eye as well as abrasions to his head and neck.

Payne was arrested for second-degree assault and cited for disturbing the peace and
criminal mischief.
