Norfolk Man Arrested For Domestic Assault, Child Abuse

NORFOLK – A Norfolk man is in jail after allegedly assaulting a woman and a juvenile on Tuesday.

Norfolk Police say around 11 p.m. officers responded to a physical disturbance at the 800 block of South 16th Street.

Officers interviewed a 37-year-old female victim. She stated 35-year-old Lloyd Gilpin, of Norfolk, was intoxicated and struck her several times.

Gilpin also had the victim in chokehold. During this same time, Gilpin also struck a juvenile that was in the apartment.

Both victims had injuries consistent with the assault.

Police say Gilpin was intoxicated and uncooperative with the officers and the investigation.

Gilpin was arrested for 3rd-degree domestic assault, strangulation, child abuse, and disturbing the peace.
