Norfolk Man Life-Flighted Following Accident

NORFOLK – A Norfolk man is hospitalized after he was struck while on his motorcycle.

Norfolk Police Capt. Don Miller says it happened around 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Capt. Miller says Mark Wortman of Norfolk was on his motorcycle southbound on 5th Avenue, when he was struck by a westbound vehicle at the intersection with Matrau Avenue. The car was driven by Angel Monroe of Norfolk.

Capt. Miller says Wortman was taken via Life Net helicopter to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City with unknown injuries. There’s been no update to his condition.

Monroe was cited for not having an operator’s license and failure to yield to a stop sign.
