FREMONT – Citizens who want to comment on the air quality matters in relation to the operation of the planned Costco plant will be given the opportunity on Tuesday.
The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality will hold a public hearing at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at the Christensen Field’s multipurpose building in Fremont. While a public hearing is not required, this hearing was requested by the plant’s operating company, Lincoln Premium Poultry.
The Nebraska Department is preparing to issue an air quality construction permit for the facility, which is required when a planned facility would surpass certain emissions thresholds.
Before the public hearing, an informal information session will be held at noon at Christensen Field. This event will allow the public to discuss the project one-on-one with department staff.
