Re-enactment brings Lewis and Clark expedition to life

CROFTON- History is still alive in Crofton, as dozens gathered around a flat-bottomed cargo boat.

A re-enactment of the historic expedition of Lewis and Clark provided a learning opportunity for children.

They stepped back to the year 1806 by sitting in a 42 ft.  boat from that era.

The replica craft was built by Lewis & Clark boat historian Butch Bouvier.

The boat is of the style he and many other historians believe the famous explorers Meriwether Lewis and William Clark used during their expedition to explore the western part of what is now the United States.

The event included trivia questions for those who attended.

The group of Lewis and Clark enthusiasts made sure history was not forgotten for the crowd of 60.
