BEATRICE – A southeast Nebraska public health district is kicking off a school student immunization effort, today.
Registered Nurse Sharon Leners with Public Health Solutions says the district is undertaking the School Kids Immunization Program, called SKIP.

The program is funded through the State of Nebraska.

Leners says providing the immunizations within the schools helps parents as well, since they don’t have to take off time from work to get their child’s flu shot.
The immunization program is conducted in all five counties P-H-S serves…Gage, Saline, Jefferson, Fillmore and Thayer.
