Severe Thunderstorm Warnings Issued for Wayne, Stanton and Cuming Counties

CARROLL – The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for central Wayne County until 7:30 p.m.

The NWS is tracking a storm located near Carroll and headed southeast at 35 miles per hour.

Golf ball-sized hail and 60 mph wind gusts are possible with this storm, which will affect the towns of Wayne and Carroll.

PILGER – Meanwhile, the NWS has issued a separate severe thunderstorm warning for western Cuming, northeastern Colfax and all of Stanton County until 7:30 p.m.

This warning is due to a line of storms extending from northwest of Pilger to north of Leigh, traveling east at 30 miles per hour.

This storm system brings with it the possibility of half-dollar sized hail and 60 mile per hour winds.

The towns of Stanton, Wisner and Pilger are in the path of this line of storms.
