BEATRICE – Rescue workers had to extricate a teenage driver from the vehicle he was driving, following an early Saturday morning rollover in Blue Springs.
Gage County Sheriff’s officers say the 16-year-old male was driving a red Chevrolet Trailblazer north on Walnut Street in Blue Springs. Investigators say the vehicle went through a stop sign at the intersection with West Broad Street. As the driver turned west, the S-U-V fish tailed and went off the street, hitting a utility pole.
The driver was taken to Beatrice Community Hospital by Wymore EMS personnel with non-life-threatening injuries.
Law officers say seat belts were not in use, and investigators suspect alcohol use was a factor. Charges are pending. Authorities say the rollover happened at 3:13 a.m., Saturday.
Also responding to the scene were Blue Springs Fire, Wymore Fire and Beatrice Fire and Rescue.
