Stanton County Fair Going On Now Through Sunday

STANTON – The Stanton County Fair got under way on Tuesday, July 31st and will run through Sunday, August 5th. The week is packed full of activities for 4-Hers and the public.

Wednesday, August 1st events include the entry of exhibits in the Community Building as well as livestock check-in.

Thursday starting at 2 p.m. is the sheep, goat, and swine shows. From 6-9 p.m. there is also a wine tasting event in the beer garden.

Friday will be the beef dairy show at 10:30 a.m. From 12-6 p.m. the SCPPD will be giving electric car rides. Friday is also night one of a two night demolition derby with classes featuring; mods, welded compact, women’s 90’s and newer. The beer garden will be open from 6 p.m.-1 a.m.

Saturday activities include a cook-off at noon in the beer garden, a cornhole tournament at 1 p.m., and night two of the demolition derby. There is also a teen dance from 9 p.m.-1 a.m.

The Stanton County Fair winds down on Sunday with a car show at noon and from 1-5 p.m. it is Kids Day with events like the Kiddie Tractor Pedal Pull. At 1 p.m. there is a team roping event and finally at 6 p.m. there is a Hypnotist Show in the beer garden.
