Stanton Man Pleads Not Guilty to Manslaughter

STANTON, NE — A Stanton man will face trial after pleading not guilty to a manslaughter charge on Monday.

Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger says 22-year-old Tucker Lanz entered a not guilty plea to the manslaughter charge in Stanton County Court today.  His trial is set to begin in January.

An investigation by the Stanton County Sheriff’s office indicates Lanz was the man behind the wheel in a rural Stanton County car accident that caused the death of 22-year-old Hunter Hetzler.  The Sheriff’s Office says alcohol, illegal drugs, and speeding were all factors that contributed to the fatal crash on May 12th.

Lanz faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
