Suspected Killer of Former Falls City Man Officially Extradited from Colorado to Omaha

OMAHA – An Omaha man who police suspect killed a former Richardson County resident on Easter is back in the state of Nebraska.

31 year-old Antoine Johnson of Omaha, was booked in Douglas County jail on Tuesday. He faces charges of second-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

Johnson is suspected of killing 29-year-old Trent C. Stutheit, who died of a gunshot wound at Creighton Medical Center on Easter Sunday. Stutheit is originally from the Falls City area, and attended both Dawson-Verdon and Falls City High School.

Johnson had been on the lam for over a month when he was arrested on May 29th in Denver, Colorado. He was officially extradited back to Omaha on Tuesday.

His first court hearing is set for Thursday at 1 p.m.

On the night of the attack, Stutheit had reportedly been out with friends,  eventually ending up near an apartment complex on 26th and Hamilton in Omaha, where around 8 p.m. he was shot.
