UPDATE: Story has been corrected to reflect that two vehicles were involved in the crash, as opposed to three.
MADISON – Slick conditions are being blamed for a multi-vehicle accident that sent one driver to the hospital.
It happened just before 8 a.m. Monday in the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 81 about two miles north of Madison.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash, which blocked one lane of northbound traffic.
One person was taken to Faith Regional Health Services Hospital in Norfolk with what were called minor injuries by officials at the scene.
Icy roads were blamed for the accident. The Department of Transportation reported the highways of northeast Nebraska were partially covered with a mixture of snow and slush on Monday morning.
