Updated Information On Sunday Morning Shooting In Norfolk

NORFOLK – We now have some updated information about the shooting near Norfolk Sunday Morning…

According to an arrest affidavit, Norfolk Police and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting on Walnut Street in Norfolk.

Upon arrival Officers discovered 23-year-old Julian Vasquez-Rodriguez with a gunshot wound to the leg. Vasquez-Rodriguez was transported by Norfolk Rescue to Faith Regional Health and then to UNMC due to severity of the injury.

25-year-old Jamie Rodriguez was arrested for assault and weapons charges..

A witness told police they found Jamie Rodriguez out front of the house claiming to have shot Vasquez-Rodriquez after he tried to rape her… The witness then claims to have seen the victim in the passenger seat of a car bleeding.

Jamie Rodriguez was taken to the emergency room to receive treatment on minor injuries before being taken to the Madison county jail where she was booked and housed.

She is being held on $500,000 bail, with Arraignment set for February 12th.
