Omaha,. NE.—Confronted in the halls of Congress, Sen. Deb Fischer had nothing to say to two women protesting her vote to put Judge Brett Kavanaugh on the U.S. Supreme Court.

“How do you feel about putting a potential rapist on the Supreme Court, are you OK with that?,” asked one of the women in a video released by the Nebraska Democratic Party.
As Fischer ignored her she added, “Do you have daughters?” The Republican who is up for re-election next month (she has three sons, no daughters) again refused to answer and kept walking when she was further asked to “look me in the eyes and tell me (the appointment ) is OK?”
“We need to show up in the streets and in the ballot box,” says Jane Kleeb, the head of the NDP. “It is clear, the only message Fischer cannot ignore is the one we send on Election Day.”
Following her vote to confirm Kavanaugh, Fischer released this statement:
“Judge Brett Kavanaugh is an excellent jurist with a deep commitment to our Constitution and the rule of law. Over the course of his 12 years on the D.C. Circuit Court, he has proven to be one of the most thoughtful, preeminent judges in our nation. He will serve the American people with distinction.”
Fischer’s Democratic opponent, Jane Raybould says Fischer’s “refusal to even consider the evidence and its ramifications is just plain wrong. It’s offensive to me as a woman, a mother, grandmother, and a daughter.”
