Winnebago Man Responsible for Brutal Beating Sentenced

NORFOLK, NE — A Winnebago man will spend decades in prison after a vicious attack.

In October 2016, 32-year old Luke St. Cyr beat a man so brutally that he couldn’t communicate with first responders, according to court records. Court records also documented that there was security footage from the Harbor Bar that shows St. Cyr kicking and stomping on the victim’s head and face multiple times before dragging him back into an alley.

St. Cyr never met the victim until that night.

Friday morning in Madison County District Court, St. Cyr was sentenced to 40-50 years in the Nebraska Department of Corrections. He must serve at least 20 years before he is eligible for parole and at least 25 years before his mandatory release.

St. Cyr was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $100,000.
