INTERVIEW: Battle Creek Girls Coach Kyle Schmidt

BATTLE CREEK, NE — The Battle Creek Bravettes overcame a seven-point halftime deficit to beat the Wayne Blue Devils 50-44 on Friday night.

Battle Creek forced more than 25 turnovers in order to complete the comeback.  The Bravettes outscored the Blue Devils 32-19 in the second half to seal the win.

The loss spoiled the girls head coaching debut for Wayne’s Rocky Ruhl.  He served as the boys coach for 20 years before moving to athletic director and now girls basketball.

The win marks the first time the Battle Creek girls have beaten Wayne since 2004.
