Late Three Lifts Superior Over Stanton

LINCOLN – It wasn’t who Superior wanted taking the shot, but in the end they were glad she did.

Freshman Teghan Sullivan hit a game-winning three-pointer with four seconds to go to win the game over Stanton 47-44. In the timeout, Superior Coach Jim Sullivan said he called a play for 6’3″ sophomore Kalynn Meyer to try and break the 44-all tie.

But Stanton doubled-down, leaving Sullivan open on the outside to hit the game-winner.

Superior will face Ravenna for the state title on Saturday, as they try to sweep the C2 championships in volleyball and basketball.
